Mining Regulation Bill Is Removed

A bill that could have delayed or derailed the proposed PolyMet copper-nickel mine project near Hoyt Lakes was pulled from consideration in the Minnesota Senate Wednesday night.  The bill would have required additional assurances of funding for land and water remediation or cleanup before operations begin.  Committee hearings on that measure were held on Monday and Wednesday.
