The Duluth 148th Fighter Wing received the news they've been waiting for on Friday. Their old F-16 fighter jets will be replaced by newer model "block 50" jets starting in April. By this fall, the Air Guard base will be home to 18 of the updated planes. Congressman Jim Oberstar says the upgrade will ensure that the 148th will continue to play an important role in the country's defense and remain a big contributor to the area's economy.
