The HMS Bounty

An estimated 125,000 people turned out to see three tall ships that were in port in 2008.  Gene Shaw from Visit Duluth expects many more for this weekend's festival that features nine tall ships.  A grand parade will open the festivities today as the vessels sail through the ship canal and under the aerial bridge.  Opening ceremonies at Bayfront Festival Park will get underway at 5 p-m and the first performance of "Pirates of Penzance" is at 6.  Get the complete schedule of events for the weekend and tickets at www.visitduluth.com/tall-ships
