Tall Ships Arriving in Duluth

The Tall Ships Festival in Duluth begins tomorrow with the grand parade of the ships through the ship canal at 2 PM and opening ceremonies at Bayfront Park beginning at 5. It is expected that the ships will be arriving informal throughout the day today. Among the replica sailing ships featured during the festival are the US Brig Niagra, the HMS Bounty, Europa, Pride of Baltimore II, the Zeeto, Roald Amundsen, SV Denis Sullivan, the Roseway, and the Coaster II. Dockside viewing of the vessels, daily live entertainment, and the UMD Theater performance of Pirates of Penzance is all included in the $12 festival pass. A $15 dollar boarding pass is needed if you want a shipboard tour of the vessels.
